There’s a bright new feature at Ladies Bay this summer — a beautifully handcrafted Beach Toy Borrow Box, built by the talented team in the CLIP Workshop.

Delivered to Mim’s Kiosk by Hidde Van Der Ham, Guernsey Prison Workshop Lead, the box is designed to bring joy and fun to families enjoying a day at the beach. Packed with spades, buckets, and other seaside favourites, the box offers children the chance to borrow toys freely and return them when the day is done.

Sponsored by Mim’s Kiosk, this project is part of a wider community effort to make beach days more accessible and playful for all. Plans are already underway to sponsor additional boxes at other locations around the island, spreading smiles from bay to bay.

A huge thank you to everyone involved, especially the Workshop team whose skill and care made this possible. It’s another great example of how creativity and community spirit can come together to make a real difference.

So next time you visit Ladies Bay, look out for the box, borrow a toy, and enjoy some simple, free fun by the sea.
