Restored SS Vega Replica Featured in Liberation Day Celebrations

We’re delighted to share the fantastic work recently completed in our Workshop – the beautifully restored replica of the SS Vega. The project was the result of many hours of dedicated craftsmanship, all overseen by Officer Peter Birkett.

The SS Vega holds a special place in Guernsey’s history, and this restoration was a proud tribute to its legacy. The team took great care in bringing the replica back to life, with meticulous attention to detail and a clear sense of purpose throughout the process. Every plank, brushstroke, and fixture reflected the effort and pride of those involved.

The restored replica proudly took part in the cavalcade during this year’s Liberation Day celebrations – a fitting moment to showcase the hard work and skill that went into the project.
