CLIP is pleased to have supported the Health Improvement Commission’s balance bike project by creating bespoke, sustainable wooden storage boxes for use in local parks. The boxes were built in the Guernsey Prison workshop and designed to keep the bikes secure, tidy and easy to access during the summer trial.
The balance bike scheme proved extremely popular, with more than 500 recorded uses across Saumarez and Cambridge parks over the eight-week period. With such positive feedback, the Commission now hopes to expand the initiative to even more locations from spring 2026.
We are proud to contribute to a project that encourages children to learn to cycle in a fun, safe and accessible way. It’s been inspiring to see how many families embraced the opportunity, and how thoughtfully the bikes were used by the community.
CLIP looks forward to supporting future developments as the Health Improvement Commission continues its work to help children gain confidence, enjoy being active and develop lifelong skills.
